The Face of Brisbane - Nudgee Beach -This bayside suburb of Brisbane is very unique. It has a median age of 58 years compared to the national average 35 years. A statistical analysis of ABS census data for this community was undertaken, focusing on three vital characteristics; age, gender and ancestry. Brisbane City Council cultural staff worked energetically and recruited participants through a range of community networks.

A portable photographic studio was set up at The Nudgee Beach Environmental Education Centre and the Emmaus Aged Person Home. All participants were required to sign a Model Release Form which included their contact details and relevant statistical data. This information was stored on a data base and was later used to invite participants to the final exhibition. Finally as gesture of thanks all participants received, at no cost, a copy of their individual portrait.
